Sky Airline Signs $600M Agreement with GE Aviation

GE Aviation, which is a division of General Electric Co., has landed part of a US$600 million contract with Sky Airline, Chile.

GE Aviation will support LEAP-1A engines for the carrier, produced by Cincinnati-based CFM International (a partnership between Safran Aircraft Engines and GE Aviation). 

Under the terms of the agreement, CFM International will provide engine maintenance on dollar per engine flight hour basis.

This agreement came a day after U.S. Navy enlisted GE Aviation on US$143 million project. GE Aviation was awarded a US$143 million contract by U.S. Naval Air Systems Command to build 22 T408-GE-400 engines which are due to power the U.S. Marine Corps’ CH-53K King Stallion helicopters.
