Gatwick airport closed following the second sighting of drones over the runway, which caused disruption to thousands of passengers expected to last at least another 24 hours. The military were deployed in the hope of bringing an end to the incredible drone chaos at the airport.

Over 750 flights were cancelled and planes remained grounded at the airport as police searched for the operator of the drone sighted over Gatwick's runway. The chief operating officer apologised to travelers and security was called to calm frustrated passengers on one airplane.
