VIDEO: Plane Crashes After Takeoff in Northern Mexico

An airplane headed for Mexico City crashed in a field close to an airport in the state of Durango, northern Mexico leaving multiple people injured. Miraculously all those onboard survived the impact.

No passengers died in the crash, but 49 people were hospitalized (with 2 passengers critically injured) out of 4 crew members and  97 passengers who were onboard the Aeromexico plane, flight 2431.

A fire subsequently broke out after all people were able to leave the aircraft.

Jose Rosas Aispuro Torres, the governor for Durango, tweeted that some of the crew and passengers had been taken to a number of hospitals within the region.

In a tweet written in Spanish, he confirmed there had been no deaths.

Torres revealed the plane had attempted to abort takeoff while it was mid-flight because of bad weather.
