THAI Airways International Public Company Ltd., trading as THAI, is Thailand's flag carrier airline. Established in 1988, Thai Airways has its corporate headquarters based in Vibhavadi Rangsit Road (Chatuchak District, Bangkok). Thai Airways primarily operates out from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Its secondary hub is Phuket International Airport. The company is a founding member of Star Alliance. The carrier is the largest shareholder of low-cost carrier Nok Air with 39% stake, and launched a regional carrier named Thai Smile in mid 2012 via new Airbus A320 aircraft.

THAI Airways (including its subsidiaries) flies to a total of 84 destinations in 37 different countries, using a fleet of more than 90 aircraft. THAI route network includes flights to Europe, East Asia, South/Southwest Asia, though the carrier serves 5 cities in Oceania. THAI Airways was the first airline in Asia-Pacific region to serve London Heathrow Airport. THAI boasts one of Europe's largest passenger operations among Asia-Pacific carriers.

THAI Airways Classes

  • Royal First (First Class): THAI Airways Royal First Class seats are produced by B/E Aerospace, and were introduced with the arrival of Airbus A340-600. The seats are also available onboard selected Boeing 747-400. New version of Royal First Class seats in an enclosure or suite configuration is available on carrier's Airbus A380 and select Boeing 747-400 aircraft.
  • Royal Silk (Business Class): THAI Airways Royal Silk Class seats are offered on all of carrier's aircraft. These angled shell design seats feature 150-160 cm (58-62 inches) of pitch and a width of 51-55 cm (20-21.5 inches). Before the refurbishment, Royal Silk Class seats onboard some 747-400s were offered as premium economy seating on Scandinavian routes. Today, Royal Silk seats onboard 777-300ERs and 777-200ERs are offered as premium economy class seating on Scandinavian routes and flights to Moscow. New Royal Silk seats are offered onboard THAI Airbus A380s, Airbus A350-900s, Boeing 777-300ERs and Boeing 787-8s. Following the delivery of new 787-9s to the carrier, Zodiac Cirrus / Reverse Herringbone seats are available on the new aircraft.
  • Economy Class: THAI Airways Economy Class provides between 81-86 cm (32-34 in) seat pitch depending on the type of aircraft. Personal screens with AVOD are offered on Airbus A330-300, Airbus A350-900, Airbus A380, Boeing 747-400, Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 aircraft.
