Small Airplane Crashes into the Ocean off Myrtle Beach

A small plane went down into the ocean off the Myrtle Beach shores Monday afternoon, November 12, causing a short delay for flights that were leaving Myrtle Beach International Airport.

The pilot of the aircraft was the only person onboard, according to Myrtle Beach Fire Chief Tom Gwyer, and he made it to the beach, but was then taken to the hospital.

Myrtle Beach and Horry County rescue crews worked at the scene of accident close to Myrtle Beach State Park.
