Plane Crash in Iowa Kills All 4 People Onboard

A single-engine airplane crashed this weekend in Iowa, killing all 4 passengers, after the pilot suffered a heart attack and the student pilot was forced to try an emergency landing.

According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office the 1979 Piper aircraft fell off the radar on Friday night, November 9, after taking off from Le Mars. The aircraft was found the next morning in a cow pasture around 115 miles from the departure point.

A news release from the sheriff’s office said the plane had requested an emergency landing at Guthrie Center Airport.

The victims, 49yo Edward Ralph Anderson, 36yo Patrick Kellen, 28yo Tyler Douvia, and 15yo Samantha Clark were found dead at the scene.

The group was headed for a hunting trip to Osceola.

The bodies were taken for autopsy to Iowa Medical Examiner's Office. The Federal Aviation Association is due to investigate the cause of the crash.
