4 Killed in Florida Plane Crash on Air Force Base

Four people were killed after a small plane crashed in a remote area of Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.

According to base spokeswoman, Jasmine Porterfield, it had crashed in densely wooded area.

Federal Aviation Administration says that Beechcraft B-60 aircraft had been on approach to Runway 14, Destin Executive Airport at around 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 30. Flight records showed the flight had left from Toledo Express Airport.

Authorities saidthe pilot, Henry Nowakowski and passengers Patsy Nowakowski, Carolyn Nowakowski, Tom Seine had all died in the crash and their family were waiting for them to land at Destin Executive Airport.

Plane crash on Eglin Air Force Base, Florida

Okaloosa County Sheriff released the following statement after the crash:

"Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the entire family of the four individuals lost in today's plane crash on Eglin Range property. The victims have been identified as pilot Henry Nowakowski and his wife Patsy, along with his sister Carolyn and her husband, Tom Seine. The FAA will investigate the cause of the accident."

The airplane is registered to Henry Leasing Company (Ottawa Lake, Michigan).
