Boeing 737 Crashes After Taking Off in Havana

A passenger aircraft carrying up to 107 people onboard has crashed right after taking off from airport.

According to Cuban state run TV, Boeing 737 has crashed shortly after taking off from Jose Marti International airport Havana at approximately 12:30 p.m. local time.

Pictures from the scene of accident show a large plume of black smoke that is visible from the terminal.

The airplane reportedly was rented by Cubana Airlines and was headed to the city of Holguin in Cuba.

Emergency services are now rushing to the scene.

Casualties are reported.
