VIDEO: US-Bangla Plane Crashes on Landing at TIA

March 12, 2018 ,   Accidents

A plane with 71 people onboard flying from Bangladesh swerved erratically and flew low before crashing and erupting in flames while landing on Monday, March 12, in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu, killing at least 50, officials and witnesses said.

The pilot of US-Bangla Airlines flight BS211 didn't follow landing instructions from airport's control tower, and approached the one runway from wrong direction. A recording of the conversations between the pilot and airtraffic controllers indicates confusion over which direction the airplane should land.

The US-Bangla Airlines flight from Dhaka was carrying 67 passengers and 4 crew members.
